The Wendy Huang Lectures was founded in 2013 and is currently hosted by the Taiwan Association for Logic, Methodology and Philosophy of Science and Technology (LMPST Taiwan). The series is named in honor of its sponsor, Ms. Wendy Huang, the president of the Frontward Foundation. Since its inception in 2013, the series has invited numerous renowned international philosophers to give a sequence of 3 to 5 lectures. Scholars who have been awarded the title of Wendy Huang Visiting Professor include David Charles, Max J. Cresswell, Dorothy Edgington, Hartry Field, Robert Goldblatt, Jennifer Hornsby, Hiroakira Ono, Daniel Stoljar, and Timothy Williamson, among others.
This year's Wendy Huang Lectures will be presented online by Professor Christian List, a Fellow of the British Academy and the Co-director of the Munich Center for Mathematical Philosophy at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. His topic will be ‘What's Wrong with Physicalism’. Each of the 3 lectures will feature 2 commentators, totalling 6 in all. All 6 commentators are active scholars in the field of metaphysics of mind within the Chinese-speaking world.
