The Taiwan Association for Logic, Methodology and Philosophy of Science and Technology (LMPST Taiwan) is the local Taiwan chapter of the Division of Logic, Methodology and Philosophy of Science and Technology (DLMPST) of the International Union of History and Philosophy of Science and Technology (IUHPST). Having its predecessor organization originated in 1960, it was established in February 2021 as a registered non-profit organization. The current board members are all local professors or researchers from related fields.
The association’s mission is to stimulate LMPST-related research, namely areas that fit the general label of ‘scientific philosophy’, including logic, philosophy of science, science and technology studies (STS), philosophy of social science, metaphysics, epistemology, philosophy of mind, philosophy of language, and other fields of study.
The current objectives of the association are:
Professional academic work: To establish and optimize academic groups and to provide group support for academic work.
Interdisciplinary work: To build bridges between philosophers and experts in other fields (scientists, humanities scholars, artists).
Popularization of Philosophy: To increase public visibility of LMPST-related research.
